Fatal Crash on U.S. 41 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana

EVANSVILLE, IN - The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at 9:41 PM, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies, responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Hillsdale Road.

Also responding were the Scott Township Fire Department, McCutchanville Fire Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Evansville Police Department,

Deputies, along with the  other responding agencies, arrived on scene and located a white passenger car and a black motorcycle with heavy damage. The driver of the motorcycle was unconscious and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but later died as a result from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver and passenger of the passenger car were also transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The primary cause and factors surrounding the crash are still under investigation. The driver of the passenger car submitted to a chemical test in accordance with Indiana law regarding fatal and serious bodily injury crashes.

The results of the chemical test are pending; however, alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor at this time.

This section of U.S 41 was closed for over two hours while the crash scene was reconstructed. The crash investigation for this incident is ongoing and the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later time after the appropriate notifications have been made.
