Police Arrest Man that Allegedly Armed with a Screwdriver Robbed a Business in Southeast Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Robert Reed along with Detective Jake Miller and Detective Bryon Lawson arrested Timothy Allen Garland II age 30 of North Main St., London on Monday afternoon June 5, 2023 at approximately 4:00 PM.

The arrest occurred at Market Plaza in London after this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court complaint warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Sheriff's Detective Robert Reed regarding a robbery and assault that he investigated on April 25, 2023 where this individual allegedly stole money from a business while armed with a large screwdriver.

During the robbery this individual got into a physical confrontation with two individuals at the business causing minor injury to them.

Following the confrontation, the accused fled on foot and was not located by law enforcement.

Laurel Sheriff's detectives developed information on the whereabouts of this subject who was wanted on the outstanding robbery warrant.

While being arrested on the warrant this individual was found in possession of stolen items allegedly taken from a store in London where he was observed leaving when being arrested. Total value of the theft from the business in London was $130.

Timothy Allen Garland II was charged on a Laurel District Court complaint warrant of arrest charging:

  • Robbery first-degree
  • Two counts of assault – 4th degree

In addition, this individual was also charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
