MEMPHIS, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is reporting that five (5) men, now former officers from the Memphis Police Department, face felony charges following an independent use-of-force investigation by special agents from the TBI.

(January 27, 2023) - The actions by the former Memphis, Tennessee, police officers are sickening; they are inhumane and indefensible. Frankly, the death of Tyre Nichols should have never happened. These officers used excessive force, failed to intervene, and neglected to call for immediate medical attention.

McCoy has been wanted since March 25, 2021, when he was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and aggravated burglary, all with firearms specifications.
